Het is slechts een voorbeeld, maar stel dat iemands PC crasht. Stel dat de harde schijf beschadigd is (door slijtage bv), en dat het systeem niet meer opstart. Waarschijnlijk staan alle gegevens nog op de harde schijf, maar je kan er niet aan.
Dan grijpen we even terug naar de tijdschriften van vorige week, nl:
- Linux intern met oa LessLinux, een reddingssysteem op DVD: je kan een niet-werkende computer (bv gecrashte Windows) starten van dit systeem en dan de harde schijf onderzoeken, corrigeren, data er af halen, virusscan enz. (zie schermafbeeldingen)
